Perinatal Mental Health

The Inner Journey of Pregnancy & Postpartum

Pregnancy and early parenthood are often spoken about as seasons of joy and anticipation, yet they also carry profound emotional and psychological shifts that are rarely named.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are the most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting approximately 1 in 5 pregnant and postpartum individuals.

With the right support, these conditions are highly treatable, and many parents experience meaningful relief, deeper connection, and restored well-being during this season.

We work with Pregnant and Postpartum Clients up to 2 years postpartum. We do not work with perinatal loss.

A person living with a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder may notice their inner world filling with questions and fears they never expected to carry:

• Quiet doubt about whether this level of anxiety or sadness is normal
• Constant Comparing themselves to other parents or others
• Thoughts that their child might be better off without them present
• A constant sense of impending harm, even in moments of calm
• Regret or disbelief about becoming a parent at all
• A longing to escape, hide, or vanish from the intensity of this season
• Fear that the people they rely on will eventually leave

We work with Pregnant and Postpartum Clients up to 2 years postpartum.
